§2 Nr. 1
The association pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes within the meaning of the "tax-privileged purposes" section of the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung).

Dialogue among and between the socially relevant groups - private individuals, companies, researchers and policymakers - about the risks of climate change and the ways of countering them. These measures serve the overarching aim of creating society-wide attention for climate protection, and of prompting a change of thinking and environmentally responsible action. Companies play an important role here, which is why we want to motivate them towards greater responsibility.

§2 Nr. 5
The association acts selflessly and does not primarily pursue its own economic purposes.

Funds may only be used for the statutory purposes. Members receive no distributions from the association’s funds.
Mittel des Vereins dürfen nur für die satzungsgemäßen Zwecke verwendet werden. Die Mitglieder erhalten keine Zuwendungen aus Mitteln des Vereins.§2 Nr. 7
No person may benefit from expenditure alien to the association’s purpose, or from disproportionately high remuneration.

The association may, in compliance with the Abgabenordnung, undertake all transactions serving its purpose - including founding or holding stakes in subsidiaries. This is the clause under which LFCA GmbH is held.
Der Verein ist unter Beachtung der Abgabenordnung für steuerbegünstigte Körperschaften zu allen Geschäften und Maßnahmen berechtigt, die der Erreichung oder Förderung des Vereinszwecks dienen. Insbesondere darf er zu den hier aufgeführten Zwecken auch Tochtergesellschaften und Einrichtungen gründen oder sich an ihnen beteiligen bzw. mit anderen Trägern gemeinsame Projekte verfolgen.§16 Nr. 5
On dissolution, or if the tax-privileged purposes cease to apply, the assets pass to Umweltstiftung WWF Deutschland, Berlin, to be used directly and exclusively for charitable purposes.
